Foundation
What follows is a summary of the core doctrines we hold dear at Park View Baptist Church. These are not merely statements on a page — they are the truths we build our lives upon, the convictions that shape our worship, and the hope we share with our community.
The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction, having God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its content.
The True God
We believe there is one, and only one, living and true God — an infinite, intelligent Spirit, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth, inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor and worship. He reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is truly God and truly man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, was buried, and rose again bodily on the third day. He ascended to heaven and now intercedes for His people as our great High Priest.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with God the Father and God the Son. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He indwells, baptizes, seals, and fills every believer, empowering them for service and conforming them to the image of Christ.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” — Ephesians 2:8
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, apart from any human merit. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, and rose again. Whoever turns from sin and trusts in Christ receives the gift of eternal life and is born again by the Spirit of God.
The Church
We believe a church is a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the ordinances of Christ, and governed by His laws. Its scriptural officers are pastors and deacons, and its mission is to carry the gospel to the ends of the earth.
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” — Hebrews 13:8
Baptism and the Lord's Supper
We believe Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior. The Lord's Supper is a memorial of Christ's death, observed by the church in remembrance of Him until He comes again.
The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal, visible, and glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will judge the world in righteousness, gather His people to Himself, and make all things new. The wicked will be separated from His presence, and the righteous will dwell with Him forever.
